With a limited production run of only 1,000 pieces, the hand-assembled Runwell represents Shinola's debute to the luxury timepiece market. As a 2 year old manufacturing and design house of watches and bicycles, Shinola has reinvested their blood, sweat, tears, and the faith to revive the term, "Made in the USA." With a 30,000 square feet state-of-the-art watch factory based out of Detroit's College for Creative Arts.
Shinola is serious about building quality lasting timepieces hiring Rhonda AG, a 67 year old company responsible for top notch Swiss timepiece movements, to help training and with the development of Shinola's new factory. With the strong leadership from Rhonda AG, we can be sure the watch is here to stay. The 47 or 40 mm silver case of the Shinola Runwell features their Argonite 1069 movement, named after the historical Argonigte building their factory is set in. It is enclosed with individually-numbered signature iconic case back-plate that reads "Made in Detroit" and finished off beautifully with a vegetable-tanned Horween leather strap.
