Samsung made a pioneering mobile-device merger in 2012 when it installed the full Android operating system in its Galaxy Camera — giving users the ability to install any photo- or video-sharing app (or even a game, for that matter). The Galaxy Camera 2 improves on the original with a faster processor, more smart modes and even the ability to tap the screen to optimize exposure.

Like its predecessor, the new Galaxy 2 camera houses the same 16.3-megapixel image sensor and 21X zoom lens (23-483mm, in 35mm equivalent) that collapses almost as flat as a pancake when the camera is off. On the back, it boasts the same big, 4.8-inch LCD touch screen.
